The partly-burnt body of a Myanmar man identified only as Harun, 32, was found behind a staircase of a shoplot near the wholesale market in Selayang last night.
A police spokesman said a passer-by had spotted flames behind the staircase and thought it was a pile of rubbish on fire.
He took a pail of water and doused the flames only to discover that it was a man's body.
Police arrested a man about 100m away from the scene in connection with the case. The suspect had earlier been seen fighting with Harun.
